Snail Mail Club

A Snail Mail Club for Meaningful Connection

Dearly is a curated handwritten letter membership for adults. You share your story, our team introduces you to one thoughtfully chosen person, and the two of you write real letters — on paper, through the post, with your home address kept private.

What is Dearly?

A letter writing club, run like a correspondence society.

Dearly is a membership-based snail mail club for adults 18 and older, currently available across the United States. Members complete a thoughtful compatibility profile called Share Your Story, and our team curates one introduction at a time rather than offering a directory to browse. Each membership includes a Welcome Kit with stationery for your first four handwritten letters, prompts that evolve as the correspondence deepens, and a secure forwarding service so no one has to share a home address.

The Exchange

How the Dearly letter exchange works

  1. 01

    Share Your Story

A longer, more considered introduction — values, lifestyle, how you communicate, and what you're hoping to find. It takes time on purpose.

  2. 02

    Receive a thoughtfully curated connection

No swiping and no infinite grid. Our team reads every story and makes one introduction at a time.

  3. 03

    Open your Welcome Kit

Beautifully designed stationery for your first four handwritten letters, along with gentle prompts to help the first pages begin.

  4. 04

    Write one letter a week

One letter each week through your first month, forwarded through Dearly so both addresses stay private. After that, every connection finds its own pace.

  5. 05

    Decide what comes next

At the end of the first month you may continue the same correspondence, privately request another introduction, or pause. The choice is always yours.

Why paper

Why handwritten letters?

A message asks for a reply in seconds. A letter gives you days. In those days you think differently, and you say the thing you would never have typed. Handwriting carries what a screen has never been able to hold — the pressure of a pen, a crossed-out sentence, a hand that hurried at the end.

Slow living isn't only about tea and long walks. It's also about letting someone become known to you at the speed a person is actually knowable. The mailbox becomes something worth walking to again.

Who it's for

Who this is for

For anyone who believes meaningful relationships are worth waiting for — the tired swipers, the hopeless romantics, the slow-living devotees, the introverts who are far better on paper, the deep-conversation seekers, the people who still keep a shoebox of old envelopes, and anyone who walks a little faster to the mailbox.

Dearly exists for the kind of connection that starts with words rather than a photograph. Some correspondences become a lifelong friendship. Some become something else entirely.

The difference

How Dearly differs from a pen pal directory

Pen pal directories and apps do something useful: they help people find each other. Dearly is built for what happens after that.

Curated, not browsed
One introduction at a time, made by people who have read your story — instead of a list of profiles to sort through.
The materials arrive with the match
A Welcome Kit with stationery for your first four letters, so nothing stalls at the blank-page stage.
Prompts that follow the arc
Early prompts help strangers introduce themselves; later ones help two people notice and understand each other. They're always optional.
Privacy by default
Every letter is forwarded through Dearly. Your home address is never shared unless you both choose to exchange details later.
One correspondence, given room
We don't replace a promising connection because a new billing cycle began. A new introduction happens when you ask for one.
A quiet exit is designed in
At the end of the first month you can continue, request another introduction, or pause — privately, with no score and no explanation owed.

Questions

Frequently asked

What is a snail mail club?

A snail mail club is a group of people who exchange letters through the post rather than through messaging apps. Dearly is a curated version of that idea: instead of browsing a directory, you're introduced to one person at a time, and the correspondence unfolds by hand, at the pace of the mail.

Is Dearly a pen pal service?

Not quite. Traditional pen pal services hand you a list of strangers to choose from. Dearly is a membership: you share your story, our team curates one thoughtful introduction, and you receive stationery, prompts and support for the correspondence itself.

How does Dearly match members?

Every membership begins with Share Your Story — a longer, more considered introduction covering your values, lifestyle, how you communicate and what you're hoping to find. Every story is read and weighed by our team before a single introduction is made. There is no browsing and no swiping.

Do I have to share my home address?

No. Your home address is never shared with your connection. Every letter travels through Dearly's secure forwarding service. If both people later choose to continue outside Dearly, they're welcome to exchange contact details then.

What do Dearly members receive?

A thoughtfully curated connection, a Welcome Kit with beautiful stationery for your first four handwritten letters, prompts that evolve as the correspondence deepens, the secure forwarding service, and thoughtful support throughout.

Is Dearly for adults?

Yes. Membership is open to those 18 and older, and every member confirms their age and identity before joining a cohort. Dearly is currently available across the United States, with plans to welcome international members soon.

How do I join?

Membership opens in cohorts. Join the Founding Member waitlist, receive your invitation by email, complete your compatibility profile, and activate at the introductory Founding Member rate of $39/month. You aren't charged when you reserve your spot.
