How It Works · Dearly Connection

Five gentle steps toward someone worth knowing.

No swiping. No algorithms deciding for you. Just paper, patience, and one person at a time.

The five numbered steps below describe Dearly Connection, our matched correspondence membership — the profile, the thoughtful matching, and Dearly’s private letter forwarding.

  1. Step 01

Join the waitlist, then create your thoughtful profile.

Before launch, the first step is simply joining the Founding Member waitlist — a short form that tells us a little about you. Invited members are then asked to complete the full compatibility profile before membership is activated. Not a dating profile — a compatibility one. We ask about values, lifestyle, communication style, faith (only if you wish), future goals, personality, interests, love languages, and the kind of relationship you're hoping to build. It takes about twenty minutes. Bring tea.

Join the waitlist, then create your thoughtful profile.
  2. Step 02

    Our thoughtful matching process.

There is no swiping. No infinite grid. Our team quietly reviews the members entering each cohort and pairs you with someone we believe you'd have wanted to meet — for reasons more considered than a photograph.

    Our thoughtful matching process.
  3. Step 03

    Receive your Welcome Kit.

A beautifully packaged box arrives at your door. Inside: exclusive Dearly stationery for four letters, four coordinating envelopes, four U.S. Forever Stamps, our writing guide, and a first set of prompts — invitations that change as your correspondence deepens. Address your letter to your connection using the details we provide — every letter is forwarded through our Correspondence Office, so home addresses are never shared between members.

  4. Step 04

    Write your first letter.

There's no expectation of perfect prose. Say what you would say over a long dinner. Cross things out. Change your mind. The imperfections are the point — they are what a screen has never been able to give.

    Write your first letter.
  5. Step 05

    Receive a handwritten reply.

And then — the sweetest part — the wait. Days pass. And one ordinary afternoon, an envelope arrives with your name on it, sealed with wax. The mailbox becomes something worth walking to again.

    Receive a handwritten reply.
Dearly Correspondence

Prefer to write someone already in your life? Dearly Correspondence skips the profile, matching and forwarding steps. You choose the person; Dearly sends the monthly materials that make writing them a ritual. See both memberships.

And after that

Month one is the introduction — not the whole story.

We don’t hand you a new person every month. If a correspondence is promising, the months that follow support that same connection. If it isn’t, you can privately ask for another thoughtful introduction, or pause. The prompts move with you too — from introducing yourselves, to noticing each other, to being understood — and they are always optional.

A Letter From Dearly

Still deciding? Let us write to you first.

One letter a month — quiet reflections on writing, waiting, and the people worth knowing slowly, plus first word when the next Founding Member cohort opens. Never spam.
