The Dearly Three-Month Gift

Don’t give them another thing. Give them something to look forward to.

Three months of meaningful handwritten correspondence — thoughtfully matched and beautifully delivered by Dearly. Their stationery, their envelopes, their stamps, their prompts, and one real person writing back.

$147 · One-time purchase · Three months · No automatic renewal

Letters travel through Dearly’s private forwarding — home addresses stay private. Everything needed to begin arrives in the first delivery. Gift purchasing opens soon; nothing is charged today.

Why it lands

Give them something they can’t unwrap all at once

Most gifts are finished in minutes. Paper comes off, the thing is admired, and by February it has found a drawer. Dearly takes three months to open. There’s the first envelope, then the wait, then the walk to the mailbox that quietly becomes a ritual — and, eventually, a person on the other end who knows them a little better than anyone did in December.

Some gifts are better when they unfold slowly. This is an experience gift rather than another object: anticipation instead of packaging, handwriting instead of a screen, and something that keeps arriving long after the day itself has passed.

What arrives

Three months. Three deliveries. One meaningful connection.

Everything they need to write one meaningful letter each week for three months.

The Dearly Welcome Kit laid out — cream stationery, matching envelopes, prompt cards and a pen
Month One

The full Dearly Welcome Kit

  • Premium Dearly stationery — enough for roughly four weeks of correspondence
  • Matching Dearly envelopes
  • Four Forever Stamps, so nothing stands between them and the postbox
  • Four thoughtful writing prompts to begin with
  • A Dearly pen
  • A personal welcome letter from Dearly
  • Their Dearly introduction and match details, when ready
  • A keepsake gift presentation, made to be opened slowly
  • Your personalized message to them
Months Two and Three

Streamlined correspondence refills

Not another elaborate kit — they already have the pen and the keepsake. Each refill simply keeps the correspondence going, with enough for one handwritten letter a week for four weeks:

  • Dearly stationery for four letters
  • Four matching envelopes
  • Four Forever Stamps
  • Four fresh writing prompts
  • A small monthly Dearly note card

The gift is a one-time purchase of $147 covering all three months. It does not renew automatically, and there is nothing for either of you to cancel when it ends.

How gifting works

Four quiet steps

We’d rather be plain about where we are: the Three-Month Gift Membership is finalized, and gift purchasing is not open yet. Here’s how giving it will work.

  1. 01

You choose Dearly and personalize it

You buy the three-month gift once, at $147, and write the message that will travel with it. No recipient address is needed from you — and you’ll never have to ask for it.

  2. 02

    They claim the gift

The recipient receives their invitation and claims the gift in their own time, giving Dearly their mailing details privately. You never see them.

  3. 03

They tell us their story, and we make one introduction

They complete a private compatibility profile. Our team reads it and thoughtfully matches them with one other Dearly member — one correspondence at a time.

  4. 04

The Welcome Kit arrives, then the refills

Month one brings the full Welcome Kit. Months two and three bring the correspondence refills, so the letters never pause for want of a stamp.

Christmas 2026

A Christmas gift they’ll still be opening in February

December is loud, and most of what changes hands in it is forgotten by the time the decorations come down. Dearly begins on Christmas morning rather than ending there: a first letter in January, a reply in February, and by March a person they didn’t know last year.

It is a genuinely unusual Christmas gift for the adult who has everything and needs nothing — meaningful, unhurried, and well under $150. It suits birthdays, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, anniversaries, a long-distance friendship, or no occasion at all.

A scheduled gift reveal and a printable announcement to hand over on the day are planned, not yet built. When gifting opens we’ll tell you precisely what’s available rather than promise what isn’t.

The Gift List

Be first to know when Gift Memberships become available.

The Dearly Three-Month Gift Membership is $147, one time, with no automatic renewal. Gift purchasing isn’t open yet. Leave your name and we’ll write to you first — no payment is taken here, and nothing is ordered today.

The recipient

Who it’s for

  • The person who doesn’t need more things and is impossible to shop for
  • The hopeless romantic who’d rather be courted in paragraphs
  • The stationery lover with too many unused notecards
  • The writer, the reader, the journaler — at home in long-form thought
  • The long-distance friend you keep meaning to write to
  • The mother who has saved every handwritten card she’s ever been given
  • Someone beginning a new chapter: a new city, a new season, a quieter year
  • The slow-living devotee who has quietly opted out of the scroll
  • Anyone looking for meaningful connection that starts with words

You aren’t giving them stationery. You’re giving them what might happen because of it.

The objects

Everything they need. Right down to the stamp.

The most common reason a letter goes unwritten is a small, boring one: no paper to hand, no envelope that fits, no stamp in the drawer. Dearly removes every one of those excuses before they arise. Heavy cream stationery that takes ink kindly. Envelopes cut to match. Forever Stamps already counted out. Prompts for the evenings when the first line won’t come.

It is a subscription box only in the shallowest sense. A box sends a pleasant object on a schedule; Dearly sends the means to reach a person. The stationery exists to make the letters easier to begin — nothing more, and nothing less.

Trust

Private by design

No public directory
There is nothing to browse and no one to swipe through. Members are never listed, searchable or visible to each other before an introduction is made.
A private compatibility profile
The recipient tells Dearly about themselves in confidence. It is read by our team to make one thoughtful introduction — not published anywhere.
Thoughtfully matched, one at a time
One correspondence, chosen with care, rather than a queue of strangers. If it isn't right, they can ask for another introduction.
Private forwarding
Every letter travels through Dearly. Members never need to give each other a home address, and no address is ever shared without a member's own decision.

Afterwards

What happens after three months

Nothing happens automatically, which is rather the point. The gift never renews on its own. There is no card left on file for the recipient, no lapse into a subscription, and no surprise charge to you.

If they’d like to keep writing, they can continue with Dearly themselves at the regular membership price in effect at that time — currently $39 per month. If they’d rather stop, the correspondence simply completes, and the letters they’ve been sent remain theirs.

Questions

Gifting questions

What is Dearly?

Dearly is a curated handwritten-letter membership for adults in the United States. Members complete a private compatibility profile, Dearly thoughtfully matches them with one other member, and the two exchange real letters on paper through Dearly's private forwarding process — so home addresses are never shared between members. There is no public directory and no browsing of profiles.

Can I give Dearly as a Christmas gift?

That is exactly what the Dearly Three-Month Gift Membership is designed for. Gift purchasing is not open yet — you can join the gift list today and we'll write to you first when it becomes available, in good time before Christmas 2026. Joining the gift list takes no payment and places no order.

How much is the Gift Membership?

The Dearly Three-Month Gift Membership is $147 USD, paid once, covering three months of membership for the recipient.

Is it a subscription? Does it renew automatically?

No. The gift is a one-time purchase covering three months. It does not renew automatically, and there is nothing for the giver or the recipient to cancel when the three months end.

Does the recipient pay anything during the three months?

No. The $147 covers their full three months — membership, Welcome Kit, both monthly correspondence refills and the U.S. postage included in each delivery.

Do I need the recipient's mailing address when I buy?

No. The recipient claims the gift and supplies their own mailing information privately to Dearly. You never need to ask them for their address, and you never see it.

Will home addresses be shared with the person they're matched with?

No. Every letter travels through Dearly's private forwarding process. Members write to each other without exchanging home addresses. If two people later decide, entirely on their own terms, to correspond directly, that choice belongs to them.

What does the recipient actually receive?

Three deliveries. Month one is the full Dearly Welcome Kit: premium Dearly stationery for roughly four weeks of writing, matching envelopes, four Forever Stamps, four thoughtful writing prompts, a Dearly pen, a personal welcome letter, their Dearly introduction, a keepsake gift presentation and your personalized message. Months two and three are streamlined correspondence refills — stationery for four letters, four envelopes, four Forever Stamps, four fresh prompts and a small Dearly note card.

How does matching work?

The recipient completes a private compatibility profile after claiming the gift. Dearly's team reads it and makes one thoughtful introduction — one correspondence at a time, rather than a list of strangers to sort through.

Can the gift be scheduled to arrive for Christmas?

Scheduled gift reveal and a printable gift announcement are planned, not yet live. We would rather say so plainly than promise a feature that doesn't exist today. Join the gift list and we'll tell you exactly what is available when gifting opens.

What happens after the three months?

Nothing happens automatically. The gift simply completes. If the recipient wants to continue, they may join Dearly themselves at the regular membership price then in effect — currently $39 per month. There is never a surprise charge to the person who gave the gift.

Who is it appropriate for?

Adults 18 and older: the person who doesn't need more things, the hopeless romantic, the stationery lover, the writer, the long-distance friend, the mother who keeps every handwritten card, someone beginning a new chapter, and anyone drawn to slower, more intentional connection.

Is it available throughout the United States?

Yes. Dearly is available to eligible adults across the United States, with plans to welcome international members in future.
